Jakob Alfitian

about

I am a doctoral candidate in personnel economics at the Faculty of Management, Economics and Social Sciences of the University of Cologne. I hold a Master's degree in Economics (M.Sc.) and a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (B.Sc.), both from the University of Cologne.

I study which management practices firms should (or should not) adopt to meet their objectives, using both field experiments and observational data at the firm level.

I am also interested in exploring the potentially unintended (behavioral) consequences of managerial decisions. In particular, I focus on non-standard outcomes such as employee absenteeism or pay equity.
